This month we talk with Dr. Gary Schultz around his journey with LC-MS from graduate school to his days at Rohm and Haas to the world of high-sensitivity biomarker assays. Gary is a self-confessed LC-MS technology junkie but he has also consistently demonstrated an ability to see the practical solutions the advances in LC-MS instrumentation can achieve. He was an early adopter and advocate of nano-flow electrospray to agrochemical metabolite characterization. We discuss how this set the foundation for the development of the ESI Chip and its application for the quantification of protein biomarkers using nano-flow LC-MS.
Gary also provides us his insights into where LC-MS technology and techniques may be heading with regard to new bioanalysis challenges. This podcast is a great listen for those interested in where LC-MS may be heading and to hear from someone who is highly regarded as an expert in his field.
